About the 2045 Comprehensive Plan
From September 2022 to November 2023, the Parish worked to update its Comprehensive Plan, a foundational policy document that establishes a framework to guide public and private decisions about future growth, preservation, and change in a community for the next 20 to 30 years. The 2045 Tangipahoa Comprehensive Plan was developed through hosting multiple community meetings, facilitating community surveys, and pairing citizen input with comprehensive research and analysis.
About Plan Implementation
This current project (September 2024- 2026), Plan Implementation, moves the Plan’s goals, objectives, and recommendations into fruition. Note that this planning project does NOT repeat Comprehensive Plan work, but builds upon it. The Plan (Chapter 14), identified four focus areas as priorities: Infrastructure and Community Facilities, Economic Development, Environment and Quality of Life, and Land Use Planning. While the focus of this project is Land Use Planning, the Project Team will leverage planning activities to provide tangible benefits across all focus areas to maximize impacts parishwide.
